ZEC holds Farewell Dinner for Outgoing Commissioners

The Commission held a farewell dinner In honour of outgoing commissioners , Daniel Chigaru, Joyce Laetitia Kazembe, Ngoni Kundidzora, Netsai Mushonga, Sibongile Ndlovu and Faith Sebata whose tenure of office ended on 6 July 2022.

At the same function, the Commission’s Chief Elections Officer Mr Utloile Silaigwana and Director Elections and Training, Mr Japhet Murenje were honoured for their long service which contributed towards moulding the Commission to the organisation that it is today.

The venue of the dinner was Holiday Inn Hotel in Bulawayo. The event, which coincided with the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2022 exhibition, was characterised by citations of the honoured punctuated by musical interludes performed by a highly competent jazz band.
It was time to revisit the roads traversed by these men and women of integrity in their quest to build a functional electoral management body of world-class standards. The guest of honour was former ZEC Commissioner Dr Qhubani Moyo whose main responsibility was to hand over tokens of appreciation to those the Commission was paying tribute.

The gifts comprised certificates of appreciation, Zimbabwe map aluminium plaques, branded laptop bags and umbrellas.
In recognition of her efforts towards giving policy direction to the organisation, the ZEC Chairperson, Justice Priscilla Makanyara Chigumba was given a bouquet of flowers.
